CALVERT MARINE MUSEUM TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY

SOLOMONS, MD – March 13, 2020 – Following Governor Hogan’s directive to close all Maryland schools, the decision has been made to temporarily close the Calvert Marine Museum (CMM) to support the effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. Beginning on March 14, buildings on the CMM campus will not be accessible to the public and all programming and special events will be postponed or canceled. More information regarding the reopening of the museum and rescheduling of events will be made available at a later time.

CMM leadership will continue to assess the situation as additional information is received from the Centers for Disease Control, Governor Hogan, and the Calvert County Board of County Commissioners. If you have visited recently, please be assured that we know of no exposure among our guests, volunteers, or staff.

While the museum is unable to serve you in person, we hope you will enjoy our collections and exhibitions online at www.calvertmarinemuseum.com and on social media. The CMM family looks forward to welcoming guests back to the museum soon and will continue to provide updates as they become available.

Explore how the prehistoric past, natural environments, and maritime heritage come to life and tell a unique story of the Chesapeake Bay. The Calvert Marine Museum is temporarily closed to support the effort to contain the spread of COVID-19. For more information about the museum, visit our website at www.calvertmarinemuseum.com or call 410-326-2042. Follow us on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter.
