MUSEUM TO HOST 2nd “STATE OF THE RIVER SUMMIT”
On Friday, October 5, from 1:00–5:00 p.m. the Calvert Marine Museum will host the second State of the River Summit. In an effort to infuse urgency into the effort to clean up the Patuxent River, former Senator Bernie Fowler directed the Patuxent River Commission to draft an Action Plan for the Patuxent which will be presented at the Summit.

PRAD PERFORMANCES FOR CHILDREN
Patuxent River Appreciation Days, Inc. is delighted to present The Blue Sky Puppet Theatre performing “Lights Out on the Bunny Brothers”on Saturday, October 6, at 11:00 a.m. in the museum auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.

VIN MORGAN TO SPEAK AT THE CALVERT MARINE MUSEUM
The Calvert Marine Museum is pleased to offer a free public lecture by Mr. Vin Morgan on Saturday, September 22 at 2:30pm. Mr. Morgan’s lecture, titled “Dinosaurs and Gunboats: Walter Granger and the Central Asiatic Expeditions” will be held in the museum’s auditorium.

CALVERT MARINE MUSEUM TO OFFER BADGE WORKSHOPS FOR GIRL SCOUTS
Starting this October, The Calvert Marine Museum is launching a new program designed for girls participating in all levels of scouting. Individuals or whole troupes can sign up to spend a Sunday afternoon at the museum earning badges.

CALVERT MARINE MUSEUM’S 2007 BUGEYE BALL TO BENEFIT THE COVE POINT LIGHTHOUSE
The Calvert Marine Museum Society will host its annual Bugeye Ball on Saturday, October 13, in the halls of the museum’s exhibition building. The event will raise funds needed for the restoration and renovation of the Cove Point Lighthouse and Keeper’s House.

FREE FRIDAYS AT THE CALVERT MARINE MUSEUM
The Calvert Marine Museum is introducing a new initiative designed to bring local residents to the museum for a free, fun way to spend their Friday evenings. “First Free Fridays” which begins in October, offers free admission to the museum from 5 – 8:00 p.m. the first Friday evening of every month, October through April.

VISIT THE NOAA BAY HYDROGRAPHER AT THE CALVERT MARINE MUSEUM
The NOAA Survey Vessel, S/V BAY HYDROGRAPHER, will be docked at the Calvert Marine Museum from Monday, September 24 through Tuesday, October 2. The public is invited to come and tour the vessel, and see how it is used to map the bay floor.
