CALVERT MARINE MUSEUM TO OFFER BADGE WORKSHOPS FOR GIRL SCOUTS

Starting this October, The Calvert Marine Museum is launching a new program designed for girls participating in all levels of scouting. Individuals or whole troupes can sign up to spend a Sunday afternoon at the museum earning badges.
Brownie programs run from 1 – 3 p.m. and cover the following “Try-Its”: Listening to the Past on November 18, Earth is our Home on March 2, 2008, and Lighthouse on April 20, 2008. For Junior Girl Scouts, the sessions run from 1 – 3:30 p.m. and include Rocks Rock which will be offered October 14, Local Lore on February 10, 2008, and Lighthouse on April 13, 2008. At the Cadet level, the more stringent requirements take a full day session to complete, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Museum Explorer interest project will be on November 11, 2007, and Lighthouse is scheduled April 27, 2008.
The fee for the Brownie and Junior badges is $10 per person, and includes museum admission. Cadet workshops are $15 per person. Space is limited to 20, and pre-registration is required.
