School’s out. Parents have voted. Now what? Come to the Calvert Marine Museum to celebrate Pirate Day, November 7th from 10 am to 5 pm. Throughout the museum young stowaways will discover the wiley ways of these most notorious of scallywags. Come learn to make a pirate’s knotted bracelet, get a pirate “tattoo” and wear an eye patch.
Carve a scrimshaw candle, make a sailor’s spyglass, and design your own Jolly Roger. Use your treasure map to hunt for pirate treasure. Pirate lore from 11 – 12 noon in the maritime history hall; Sea Chantie sing-along in the auditorium at 1:00; Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl at 2:00 in the auditorium.
All children (up to 12 years) who come dressed as a pirate get free admission to the museum. Over 12 years normal admission fees apply. For information, visit our web site at www.calvertmarinemuseum.com or call 410-326-2042 ext. 41.
