NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM IN SOLOMONS
Jun 23, 2010, 05:14
Spend the night at the Calvert Marine Museum and enjoy the annual Behind-the-Scenes Family Overnight on Friday, July 23 starting at 7:00 p.m. A unique opportunity to share a new adventure, the Family Overnight invites you to experience the museum in ways that our daytime visitors never get to see. Work in our paleo prep lab on a real fossil, go behind the scenes where we quarantine and treat the fish, climb the Drum Point Lighthouse at sunset, and discover some of the secrets hidden in plain sight in the museum. Get a special snack and then be treated to a viewing of a film on the full size screen in our auditorium. Families may choose their own “campsite” throughout the museum: sleeping under the jaws of the Megalodon, lying next to the fish tank, or snoozing alongside the boats. Wake up to breakfast overlooking the lighthouse before heading out the door.
The Family Overnight is $35 per person, and children must be 7 years or older. Participants are responsible for their own bedding. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. To reserve your space, call 410-326-2042 ext. 41 today!
Join the Calvert Marine Museum in celebrating 40 years of excellence in 2010. The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors and military with valid I.D., and $2.00 for children ages 5 – 12; children under 5 are free.
